The Sharp-Test Applicator was created to meet the requirements of individual allergin tests. At the same time, it fits perfectly into the Quanti test system and provides high accuracy results.
Remove the applicator. To keep the allergens clean, please know you must keep the caps on the wells fully shut to avoid allergen evaporation.
Avoid allergen waste. While taking out the applicators, please lean the stems and tips against the circular plate wall of the Quanti-Wells.
Select a flat skin surface, such as the volar forearms or the back. Avoid areas with excessive hair growth and ensure that the area is sufficiently large for the test. Apply alcohol or other antiseptics on the test area to sterilize it and wait until it is dry.
Place the Sharp-Test on the skin. Then, press down gently and hold for 1–2 seconds. After removing the applicator, leave the allergens on the skin for at least one minute before wiping them off.
The results can be recorded in any form that users prefer. We suggest using a form that matches the order of allergen placement on the Quanti-Tray. In this way, the results can easily match the corresponding location on the form.
The positive control was performed with histamine, which requires 8 to 10 minutes before reading the result. Reactions with a specific IgE on mast cells need 15–20 minutes before reading.
A simple size comparison is one way to recognize the results. A positive reaction is also called an erythema reaction. It is usually 5 mm larger than the negative result or 2 mm larger than the wheal result.
